But beyond the fairways and greens, there’s an entire operation running behind the scenes, and that’s where the volunteers come in.
Tap Truck Monterey had the honor of serving in the volunteer tent, which acts as the main hub for the thousands of volunteers who make this tournament possible. The tent features a main stage for entertainment, food, wine, and sponsored booths, and just outside the front entrance was Betsy Blue, ready to pour.
Security carefully managed the flow of guests, and drink tickets were distributed to ensure responsible service. It was organized, high-energy, and incredibly rewarding to be part of such a well-run operation.

On Tap:
When you’re pouring for locals at a major Monterey event, you bring the good stuff.
This year’s lineup highlighted some of the best breweries in the area, including fan favorites from Alvarado Street Brewery and Peter B's Brewpub.
On tap:
-
Mai Tai IPA – A local favorite known for its tropical flavor profile. This one consistently brings people back for more and has become a must-have at our events.
-
Monterey Beer – A crisp, traditional lager from Alvarado Street Brewery that’s just as popular for those who love a clean, classic option.
- Brewers Daydream (Day Two) – A hoppy lager from Peter B’s that offered something refreshing yet flavorful for returning volunteers.
Every keg reflected the local pride of Monterey County, and guests appreciated seeing familiar breweries represented.

A Community That Comes Back Year After Year:
One of the most special parts of this event isn’t just the golf, it’s the people.
Most of the volunteers they served have been part of this tournament for 10+ years. Seeing familiar faces return each February creates a sense of community that’s hard to put into words. There’s laughter, storytelling, and genuine excitement every time the Tap Truck pulls in.
This was their third year back at the Pro-Am, and each time they are welcomed with smiles. Betsy Blue has become an iconic image in Monterey County, and it truly feels right at home at this event.
There’s something powerful about being part of a tradition, not just showing up, but being expected.
Behind the Scenes: Logistics & Lessons Learned
By year three, Tap Truck Monterey has gotten pretty good at planning for this event.
"We know the layout.
We understand the timing.
We anticipate the rushes."
That preparation makes all the difference.
Of course, Pebble Beach can be tricky to navigate, especially with road closures and heightened security during tournament week. Coordinating bartender arrivals, beer supplier deliveries, and ensuring everyone has the correct security credentials for each day requires serious organization.
But with experience comes efficiency, and their team handled it seamlessly.

Why This Event Means So Much to the Monterey Team:
Out of all the events they do each year, the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am is one they look forward to the most.
It represents:
- Community
- Tradition
- Local pride
- And the opportunity to serve the people who make a world-class tournament possible
There’s something incredibly rewarding about pouring a cold beer for a volunteer who’s been donating their time to this event for over a decade. It’s more than just taps and kegs, it’s connection. And they can confidently say "we’re already looking forward to year four."
